GRANT PARK: CELEBRATING HISTORY
My team and I were tasked with creating a three day promotional event centering around Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois and its history. Grant Park is a large urban park, known for its iconic attractions, like Millennium Park, Buckingham Fountain, the Bean, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
The Production Process.
Our first part of production consisted of three main things. First, create a logo. Our logo was a key component that was needed across all tasks, so that became our first priority task. Each team member took a shot at creating a logo, then we all voted for which one we liked best.
Next we created a theme, something the team can all follow so all items created look like they belong together. We wanted our theme to be minimalistic, but at the same time modern and fun, something attractive to all ages and demographics. Second, creating a color scheme. We cycled through a few different swatches, green, red, vintage scheme, etc. until we landed on a blue monochromatic color scheme with off-white accents.
And lastly, we needed our logo. Our logo was a key component that was needed across all tasks, so that became our first priority task. Each team member took a shot at creating a logo, then we all voted for which one we liked best.
The second part of production consisted of completing all other assigned tasks, creating their mockup counter parts (as needed), and lastly organizing all our finished products and files into one place for easy access and submission.
I was tasked with creating what the website would look like, if this event actually had a site available. There is both a desktop and mobile version along with a mockup of what it would look like on a device.
I then created the event’s commemorative tickets (front and back), with a different design for each of the days.
