TIME SKATERS

TIME SKATERS

It starts with the nearing of a new millennium, a little tumble, and a time traveling skateboard?

Introducing Time Skaters.

We ended up settling on a time travel movie that didn’t take itself seriously at all. Think: parody movies, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure or Scary Movie.

We decided to have our movie be about the repercussions of time travel or in other words The Butterfly Effect.

The movie would follow characters Sterling (Brad) and Naya (Sara) as they accidentally travel back in time with a time-traveling skateboard Sterling picked up from a garage sale. But when Sterling takes a keepsake back to his time from the future, he ends up creating a new timeline. Which is where our antagonist is from.

Our antagonist is trying to keep their timeline intact, stopping Sterling and Naya from making things right by undoing their mistake and getting their time back to how it was before.

After figuring out the premise of our movie, we created mood boards of dvd case references we liked, and took what we liked from those designs and implemented them into our own.

Production is where the fun began. For our first phase of production, we started off with the photoshoot with our actors in costume. We took photos for the posters and DVD cover.

The second phase of production was filming. We started out by filming trailer footage. At the time we thought we’d create an entire trailer for the movie, but as editing began, we realized that the trailer just wasn’t going to work. So, we had to come up with a plan-b. We settled on cast interviews instead, which would still allow for us to still use some trailer footage alongside the interview portion. This change ended up working in our favor.

Say hello to the Time Skaters!
